Leadership Team

The people behind the work

Each person brings a different part of the work. Together, the team covers law enforcement outreach, instructor preparation, operations, communications, and the community events where rider training actually happens.

Mike Thomas

President & CEO

Mike founded VoltVerified in 2024 after years of seeing eBike safety problems firsthand through his law enforcement and traffic-safety work. He brings more than two decades of Southern California law enforcement experience, including extensive work in traffic operations, safety education, special events, and grant-funded programs.

Today he leads VoltVerified's program development, law enforcement instructor training, agency partnerships, and statewide efforts to build a consistent eBike safety model that agencies and communities can actually use.

“Day after day, I was seeing riders, many of them teens, riding eBikes unsafely. And as eBikes became more popular, I got to a point where I thought, ‘I have the knowledge and experience, and there’s very little eBike-specific hands-on training out there. I can’t just sit back and do nothing.’

That’s why I started VoltVerified—to help fill that gap. We combine education with hands-on training and draw on years of emergency driving experience to teach riders how to ride defensively, intelligently, legally, and safely.”
