394 collisions: These took place from September 2024 through August 2026 and involved riders of all ages on eBikes and other electric devices. The 95 non-eBike collisions include 62 unauthorized electric devices, 29 eMotos and 4 scooters (24% of the total). There were 85 collisions at intersections (22%).

V2RT™ rider certification
Students practice control, respond to hazards and demonstrate what they can do on the bike. Every rider completes hands-on skills training and classroom instruction, with each part scored pass or fail. Certification requires passing both.

California's first and only POST-certified eBike instructor course
V2RT rider training is delivered by officers and deputies who have completed VoltVerified's 40-hour California POST-certified eBike Instructor Course.
The POST course prepares officers and deputies to teach the law, coach riding skills and evaluate competency. Graduates use the V2RT curriculum and Instructor App to deliver training in their communities.
POST is California’s Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training. This instructor course is for law enforcement personnel.
V2RT can support education-based diversion when appropriate. Riders learn the law, demonstrate their skills and receive clear expectations.
The curriculum draws on law enforcement experience and input from prosecutors, injury-prevention specialists and pediatric trauma professionals. Participating agencies remain responsible for their own training operations.
VoltVerified provides the V2RT curriculum and instructor certification and encourages certified instructors to deliver training as taught. Participating agencies are independent entities responsible for their own training operations, personnel and safety practices. VoltVerified does not control and is not responsible for activities, materials or modifications an agency adds, or for delivery that departs from the V2RT model.
